Safety first: All lights in a child's room should be tip-proof, touch-safe, and made from robust materials. Open bulbs and lamps that get hot should be avoided – LEDs are the safe choice here.

Color temperature: Warm-white light (2,700–3,000 K) promotes relaxation before sleep. For the homework area, neutral-white light (4,000 K) is better suited.

Lighting according to age

In the baby room, warm, dimmed light is paramount, as is a gentle night light for nighttime orientation and as little glare as possible, since babies spend a lot of time lying down and looking at the ceiling.
