Compact 4-meter string lights are ideal for balconies or smaller patio areas and can be quickly wrapped around a railing or pergola. In warm white and adjustable, you can find them as a 4 m string light with 80 LEDs in adjustable white or as a 4 m string light with 80 LEDs in warm white, dimmable. For cooler light, the 4 m string light with 40 LEDs in cold white is suitable, and for a colorful party look, the 4 m RGB string light with 80 LEDs, color-adjustable.

For larger areas such as a long patio, a hedge, or several trees, the 18 m string light with 240 mini-LEDs in adjustable white is suitable, which also illuminates larger gardens continuously in one go.

Neon flex light tubes are a good addition for further accentuating contours, railings, or planters. You can find a larger selection of colors in our LED Strips & Neon Flex category. Decorative garden lanterns with ground spikes and a small starry sky spotlight set round off the outdoor lighting. Where are string lights particularly suitable?

On the patio, string lights wrapped along the canopy or around posts provide a warm, inviting frame for evenings together. On the balcony, even a short string light on the railing transforms the atmosphere. In the garden, string lights can be effectively guided through trees, shrubs, or along fences. For garden parties and celebrations, colorful or adjustable strings provide the right mood. String lights also create atmospheric light on pergolas and seating areas without the need for permanent installation.

What you should consider before buying

Protection class (IP rating): For outdoor use, at least IP44 is required. Our outdoor string lights are designed to be weather-resistant accordingly.

Length & number of LEDs: Measure the area you want to illuminate beforehand. For a smaller patio, 4 m with 40–80 LEDs is sufficient; for larger gardens or hedges, a long 18 m string with 240 mini-LEDs is worth it.

Light color: Warm white light creates a cozy atmosphere for relaxing evenings, cold white light appears clearer and more modern, and colorful RGB strings are particularly suitable for parties and special occasions.

Adjustability: Several of our string lights can be adjusted in light color, so you can switch between warm white, cold white, or colorful without having to buy multiple strings.

Material & workmanship: Look for robust cables and weather-resistant sockets so that the string light works reliably over several garden seasons.

Why LED string lights?

Today, LED string lights have almost completely replaced classic incandescent string lights. They consume significantly less electricity, barely heat up, and last reliably over many seasons – even with continuous outdoor use.

Smart Home-capable string lights

Many users look for string lights with Alexa, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, or app control to operate garden lighting conveniently via voice command or smartphone. We do not carry such models in our current range of string lights – our strings are controlled in the classic way via switch or remote control.

Solar or wall outlet?

Solar string lights can be placed anywhere in the garden without a wall outlet, but they are dependent on the day's sunlight. Wall-outlet-powered string lights, on the other hand, provide consistently bright light regardless of the weather and season, but require a power connection nearby – ideal for permanent installation on the patio. Our solar string lights are currently being added to our range.
