Collection: Floor Lamps & Standing Lights – LED Floor Lamps for Living Room, Bedroom & Office

Floor lamps are the most versatile lights in the living area: they can be positioned flexibly in the room, moved at any time, and instantly create a new lighting mood – all without a drill or an electrician. At Saasil, you will find floor lamps for every interior style, from the elegant torchiere in the living room and the classic floor lamp in the bedroom, to the sculptural designer lamp that stands as a piece of furniture in its own right.

Which floor lamp suits you? – A quick comparison

Type Ideal for
Torchiere Ambient lighting
Arc lamp Sofa & reading nook
Reading lamp Reading
Designer floor lamp Living ambiance
Smart floor lamp Convenience & Smart Home

Which floor lamp is right for you?

With their curved arms, arc lamps span over sofas or armchairs, providing soft light from above – without the need for ceiling mounting, like the 225 cm high arc lamp with a white fabric shade from Villeroy & Boch.

Torchiere floor lamps illuminate the entire room indirectly by reflecting light off the ceiling. As a standalone light, they can replace ceiling lights when needed, creating an even, glare-free ambient brightness, such as the dimmable floor-standing wall washer in brushed aluminum or the dimmable floor lamp with joints for indirect wall lighting.

Reading lamps & floor lamps with spotlights direct light specifically where needed. With a swivel head, you can place the brightness exactly where you need it – at the desk, next to the bed, or in a reading corner, like the LED reading lamp with magnifying glass and gooseneck, the flexible LED gooseneck reading lamp in white, or the adjustable LED reading lamp with a mini fabric shade. → To desk lamps

Designer floor lamps are intentionally designed as eye-catchers: unique shapes, high-quality materials, extraordinary light effects. These include the vintage-look floor lamp made of mouth-blown glass, the dimmable light pillar with a 3D effect in chrome, the curved, dimmable designer floor lamp in warm white, as well as the floor lamp with integrated side table and USB port.

Floor lamps for every living area

Living room

A torchiere replaces a classic ceiling light when needed and ensures even, glare-free ambient brightness – ideal in combination with a cozy seating area.

Bedroom

A swivel reading lamp next to the bed provides pleasant light for bedtime reading without taking up space on the nightstand.

Reading corner

A floor lamp with warm white light and a swivel head creates the perfect atmosphere for browsing, without distracting shadows on your book.

Home office

A floor lamp with a spotlight provides precise working light at the desk and supplements ceiling lighting where focused work is required.

Dining room

In addition to a pendant light over the table, a floor lamp in the corner adds atmospheric lighting for cozy evenings.

Hallway

A striking designer floor lamp makes an inviting first impression in the entryway and fills darker corners with light.

Conservatory

A weather-resistant floor lamp rounds off the cozy atmosphere in the conservatory even on cooler evenings.

Hotel

In hotel rooms or the lobby, high-quality floor lamps ensure inviting, atmospheric lighting that makes the stay more pleasant.

Medical practice

In waiting areas and treatment rooms, subtle floor lamps create a calm, trustworthy atmosphere away from stark ceiling lighting.

Waiting room

A warm, indirect floor lamp removes the clinical note from waiting and makes the stay more pleasant.

Materials

Metal, such as brushed aluminum or chrome, creates clean, modern lines. Glass – especially mouth-blown glass – brings depth and light reflections to designer floor lamps. Fabric shades made of textile diffuse the light in a particularly soft and homely way. Wooden elements complement many models as a warm contrast to metal or glass. Matte black is one of the most popular finishes for design and industrial floor lamps, as it is understated and integrates into almost any decor. Natural materials like rattan, bamboo, or brass are currently not in our floor lamp collection – for these, it is worth looking at our pendant lights, where rattan models are part of the range.

Which floor lamp matches your interior style?

For a modern or minimalist look, clean shapes in metal or glass without playful details are suitable. Scandinavian interiors focus on light colors, reduced shapes, and textile shades. The industrial style thrives on raw metal, visible sockets, and dark finishes. Vintage lovers opt for mouth-blown glass and warm filament bulbs. In the country house style, wooden details and classic fabric shades fit best. Boho interiors benefit from organic shapes and warm materials, while a classic interior style tends towards timeless floor lamps with fabric shades in muted colors.

How many lumens should my floor lamp have?

As a rough guideline: about 300–800 lumens are sufficient for a cozy ambiance in the living room. For reading, around 600–1,000 lumens are recommended so that text can be read without fatigue even over longer periods. For focused work at a desk, 1,000 lumens or more is preferred – ideally in combination with an additional, closer light source like a desk lamp.

Why LED floor lamps?

LED floor lamps have almost completely replaced classic incandescent and halogen models today. They consume significantly less power, have a very long service life, and reach full brightness instantly, without a warm-up phase. At the same time, they generate almost no heat, are often dimmable, and are available in various light colors. Since modern LEDs work reliably for many years, LED floor lamps are also particularly low-maintenance.

Color rendering (CRI)

A color rendering index of Ra 80 is usually sufficient for living spaces. Anyone who values particularly natural colors should choose models with Ra 90 or higher.

Smart floor lamps

Smart home features such as Alexa, Google Home, or Zigbee connectivity are usually not a permanent feature of the lamp itself, but depend on the bulb used. Since most of our floor lamps use E27 sockets, virtually any of our floor lamps can be retrofitted with a smart LED bulb – including app control, dimming, and color changing via voice assistant. Models with an integrated touch or foot switch dimmer already offer these convenience features from the factory, without the need for an additional smart bulb.

What you should consider when buying

Height & Proportions: A floor lamp should match the room height and the surrounding furniture. Arc lamps need a bit more space, but they have an expansive and elegant effect.

Light direction: Torchiere lamps illuminate the room diffusely; spotlights illuminate specifically. Think about whether you need ambient light, accent light, or both – many floor lamps combine both in one, such as the light pillar with fabric shade and dual-switch light function.

Dimmability: Almost all floor lamps benefit from a dimmer. Look for compatible LED & halogen dimmers or choose a model with an integrated foot switch dimmer.

Bulb: For arc lamps with a shade, a warm white filament bulb is worthwhile for a particularly cozy light atmosphere, as with the round, height-adjustable floor lamp with a white fabric shade.

Frequently asked questions

Which floor lamp is suitable for the living room?

For the living room, torchiere lamps are particularly suitable for even ambient light, as well as designer floor lamps, which also act as a decorative element.

Which floor lamp provides indirect light?

Torchiere lamps as well as models with an articulated arm that throw light onto the ceiling or wall create particularly soft, indirect light in the room.

How many lumens should a floor lamp have?

For a living room atmosphere, about 300–800 lumens are sufficient; for reading, 600–1,000 lumens are recommended, and for focused work, ideally 1,000 lumens or more.

What height is ideal for a floor lamp?

That depends on the room height and the intended use. Reading lamps can be a bit lower so that the light falls directly on the book, while torchiere lamps and designer floor lamps are often between 150 and 180 cm high.

Which light color is suitable for a floor lamp?

Warm white light (2,700–3,000 K) is best for living rooms and bedrooms, while neutral white light (4,000 K) is better for work areas like a home office.

Are LED floor lamps more economical than classic models?

Yes. LED floor lamps consume significantly less electricity than classic incandescent or halogen bulbs while generating almost no heat.

Can floor lamps be dimmed?

Many models are dimmable or have an integrated foot switch dimmer. For models without an integrated dimmer, this function can often be retrofitted with a suitable LED or halogen dimmer.

What is a torchiere?

A torchiere is a floor lamp that directs its light upwards towards the ceiling, providing indirect and even lighting for the room.
