UK Plug Type G – British 3-Pin to BS 1363, rewirable
The UK plug Type G is the British plug system with three rectangular pins, also known as British 3-Pin, England plug, or Commonwealth plug. This plug is designed to be wired by the user: it can be opened, the cable is connected to screw terminals, and the integrated cord grip provides strain relief. Ideal for assembling or replacing a defective plug.
A wiring diagram is printed on the inside, making the connection straightforward – including the required stripping lengths.

Important to know
A UK plug Type G does not fit into a German Schuko socket (Type F) – you will need an adapter for that direction. A plug does not change voltage or frequency and is not a substitute for a voltage converter. In Great Britain, the standard is 230 V at 50 Hz. Type G is widely used in Great Britain, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Qatar, Kenya, and Nigeria, among others.
Connection should only be performed by suitably qualified individuals. Never bypass fuses and only replace them with the same nominal value.

A BS 1362 cartridge fuse with 5 A. Other types or higher ratings are not permitted.
How many watts can I connect?
At 230 V, the 5 A fuse limits the load to approximately 1,150 W. For more powerful devices, a different plug design is required.
Is IP20 suitable for outdoor use?
No. IP20 offers no protection against water and is intended only for dry indoor areas.
